Vampire Facelift, Microneedling with PRP Q&A

What is a vampire facelift?

A vampire facelift rejuvenates your skin by combining two effective procedures, microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. In some cases, your provider may recommend adding a third element to your facial called UltraMint.

How does a vampire facelift combine microneedling and PRP?

Here’s how the components of a vampire facelift work:

Microneedling

Microneedling rejuvenates your skin by boosting the production of collagen and elastin. These key proteins are essential for strong, flexible skin. As you get older, however, their production goes down, causing loose skin and wrinkles.

During a microneedling procedure, Jennylle uses a medical device equipped with fine needles. The needles quickly create tiny punctures in your skin. The wounds activate your body’s healing response, which in turn boosts collagen and elastin production.

PRP

PRP contains concentrated platelets with a little plasma. To create your PRP, Jennylle draws a sample of your blood and processes it in a centrifuge that separates the platelets and plasma from other blood cells.

After your microneedling procedure, she gently places PRP over the wounds. The small openings let PRP penetrate and get below the skin’s surface.

As PRP infuses your skin, the platelets release growth factors. Then the growth factors trigger a flurry of activity in the nearby cells. They accelerate healing, repair skin damage, boost collagen production, trigger new blood vessel growth, and build a strong supporting matrix.

UltraMint

UltraMint is a proprietary mixture containing growth factors, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. Peptides are small proteins that help reduce wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid, another substance naturally produced in your skin, is essential for keeping your skin moist and supple.

How does my skin improve with microneedling and PRP?

If you decide to have a vampire facelift, you can expect to see changes in your skin such as:

  • Tighter, firmer skin
  • Even skin tone
  • Brighter, more youthful skin
  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Diminished acne scars
  • Smaller pores
  • Less crepey skin

Most people notice subtle changes after their treatment, but it takes time for your skin to produce new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Though you’ll need to be patient to see results, the great part about this treatment is that your skin continues to improve over time.
