Regain Your Youthful Appearance with a Hair Transplant

Regain Your Youthful Appearance with a Hair Transplant

Nothing zaps your confidence quite like thinning hair or a receding hairline. Thanks to advanced treatment options, such as hair transplants, you don’t have to hide your thinning hair with scarves, hats, or comb-overs any longer.

And while there are many types of hair transplants, our team here at RVA Regenerative Wellness is proud to offer Direct Hair Implantation® (DHI) δΈ€ the world’s best hair transplant technique.

As the only DHI hair transplant specialist in America, board-certified family nurse practitioner Jennylle Zanzi, FNP-C, is ready to help you feel confident in your appearance with a hair transplant.

Here’s what you need to know about DHI hair transplants and how they can turn back the hands of time.

How do hair transplants work?

A hair transplant is a procedure that relocates healthy hair from one area of your scalp (called a donor site) to other areas of your scalp plagued by thinning or baldness. The transplanted hair fills in areas of hair loss.

There are many different surgical techniques used when transplanting hair.

Follicular unit transplantation (FUT)

During this type of hair transplant, a strip of skin is surgically removed from the back of your head and transplanted where you need it. Unfortunately, this technique is more prone to scarring and bumps at the donor site.

Follicular unit extraction (FUE)

Unlike FUT, FUE techniques don’t remove a strip of skin. Instead, only a few hair follicles are extracted and transplanted. This is more time-consuming but avoids the strips of potential scar tissues associated with the FUT technique.

DHI

DHI is a modified version of FUE hair implantation. During FUE, the incision to insert hair follicles and the actual insertion of the follicles is two separate steps. The DHI technique is a more efficient technique, allowing Jennylle Zanzi, FNP-C to make the incisions and implant your hair follicles at the same time.

What can you expect during a DHI hair transplant?

Before you arrive for a DHI hair transplant, our team reviews all of the necessary preparation steps you need to take, such as avoiding coffee and tea before your session.

During your transplant, our team expertly extracts follicles using DHI Global Medical Group’s advanced extraction and implantation tools. Because the extraction and implantation tools measure 1 millimeter (or less) in diameter, you can expect more natural results and faster healing than any other hair transplant technique. Due to the careful and precise nature of a hair transplant, the session will last throughout the morning and afternoon, but we have a comfortable room for you to enjoy your lunch in peace.

After your transplant is completed, it’s time to go home! Because we keep you comfortable with a local anesthetic (and not general anesthesia), you’ll be able to drive yourself home. We provide specific post-treatment instructions, including when to wash your donor site, when to wash the recipient site, when and how to use saline spray, when to resume exercise, and how often you need to schedule post-transplant evaluations.

How does it restore a youthful appearance?

We know that you’re ready to say goodbye to thinning hair and hello to a new look, but remember that everything worth having is worth the wait! Although you’ll see new growth within 1-3 months, full growth is complete about 12 months after your transplant.

Hair transplants using the DHI technique can:

During your consultation, we review your aesthetic goals, examine the thickness of your follicles, and assess the donor hair density. If you’re not ready for a hair transplant, but still want to combat thinning hair, we also offer hair restoration, a non-surgical treatment that relies on platelet-rich plasma (PRP) together with UltraMint, a powerful formulation of hyaluronic acid, growth factors, and peptides.

If you spot the signs of balding or are bothered by thinning hair, call our Midlothian, Virginia, office at 786-971-0914 to schedule an appointment. You can also request an appointment using our online scheduling tool.
